The most frequent hydrate of copper sulphate is the pentahydrate (n = 5), a vivid blue crystal. Copper sulphate is employed in agriculture and non-agricultural settings as a fungicide, algaecide, root killer, and herbicide. It's also an antibacterial and a molluscicide. Individual items containing copper sulphate have a wide range of applications. When using pesticides, always read and follow the label.
